The Watershed Range is the range of the Carpathian Mountains that divides the basins of the Dniester and Tisa Rivers. It crosses the Chyvyn Mountains, the Gorgany, Chornohora and many other peaks and ranges. However, most tourist associate the name Watershed Range with the Pikui Range that stretches from Polish borders to the eponymous mountain. The mountain range, with its steep and narrow slopes, stretches for more than 40 km. It charms with beauty of its wilderness, with sights of the vast alpine meadows and forests that cover surrounding slopes.

This remarkable natural obstacle was a witness of innumerable military conflicts and wars from the Middle Ages to modern times. Leo, the Prince of Galychyna and Volhynia, led his troops to Hungary across these mountains. During both world wars, battles were fought here. Now, here are tourist routes for everyone to try out their hardiness during a hike.

Mount Pikui is the highest peak in Lviv Region. The route of the hike, which lasts for three days, starts from the Sianky village, goes over the Kut Pass, includes a night on the Lybohorska Polonyna (alpine meadow), passes many other peaks and finishes in the town of Volovets.
